1 July 2012

Had brunch with bestie @ Strictly pancakes
We waited for around 20 mins to be seated! Yeah, because it's a Sunday afternoon.
This time I tried 'The Druggie'! For those who love chocolate like me!
It's yummy but as usual cant finish all. Too 'jelat'!
Not really a fan of pancakes, but pretty fine if I eat once a while :)
Bestie had Banana-scotched which I tried the other time when I was there.

DIY dessert cover which I've made from scratch.

5 July 2012
Lunch at Paradise Dynasty again because my friends have not tried it yet :)
I did a review on it previously.
Bamboo sprouts on the left. ($6)
 Very spicy but yummy fish!

Dynasty Signature, Original, Shanghai Pork bun.
 Red bean pastry! ($6)
 Pumpkin cake ($3)
Very nice :D must order!

As usual, food was great and service was better this time round.
Love this restaurant pretty much. Rank it higher than Ding tai feng now.
No.1 Chinese restaurant on my list now:)

After that, went to sing k at Sbw Teo heng. Impromptu decision to sing k!

Then we had dinner at Thai Express Sbw, chit chat at Mac & Home sweet home.
Happy day out! :)

6 July 2012
Met up with gfs for dinner @ Black bird cafe
Located just beside The Cathay.
 H.M.T Sandwich for me! ($11)
Nothing great, it was so so only. Not really worth it for the price.
Service was good though. Probably I'll try their cakes next time!

Then went to Ben & Jerry's for icecream!
ordered one pint- Mixed berries sorbet & Chocolate Brownie Fudge flavoured.
Yummmss~ :)

Shan tou dim sum buffet!

27 June 2012

Finally managed to find a common day to eat our dim sum buffet @Shan tou restaurant!
We bought the meal through groupon at $15/pax.
Pretty good food & great service. Location wise a bit inaccessible, but within walking distance from tpy mrt.
Special thing over here is that for the buffet, there's no menu. Dim sum came in pushcart manner & not repeated, so best is to come exactly for the full buffet time period to prevent missing any dishes.
But I can conclude that they offer pretty quality food! There's free flow of chinese tea/ barley/sour plum drink too.

We were very hungry, so most of the food were gone before I can take a pic of it! Haha.
This is what I have:

Rate: 4/5

After that, we went to watch Spiderman!!! :D Great show!

The secret
Posted on Monday, June 25, 2012 @ 12:34 PM with 0 comments

Omg, can't believe it!
All the goals that I aimed previously came true!
During sec: my goal was to get L1R4 of 9 at least.
During poly: my goal was to get a cumulative gpa of at least 3.75 and get into SMU.

Reality: Thou I didn't get 6 A1s for my O level, I did get L1R4 of 8. Then for poly, I graduated with a gpa of 3.85 and got into SMU BBM.

Funny thing is, I actually forgot that I used to aim to get into SMU until today! I thought I always wanted to get into NUS. Too bad NUS didn't offer me the course that I want.

To do:
"Think of a goal that you want to achieve, write it down on a paper and paste it somewhere that you'll see everyday." Just so simple. I rmb it was my bro who told me about it & I believed it!

I guess by doing so, you will naturally keep reminding yourself to aim for your goal, and tadah...goal achieved! Thou may not exactly achieve what you want, but definitely near!

So, Im gonna have another goal for University! And I hope I'll be able to achieve it!

Nevertheless, to achieve your goal, there are 3 factors. 1) hard work 2) help from people around you 3) abit of luck! So I'm very grateful for everything and everyone that made me achieved my goals. Be it family, friends, colleagues and teachers. I'm thankful for what I have now.

Hence, hope everyone can fulfil their wishes and be happy!!! To world peace! ^^v

Cheers,

21 June 2012

Met up with the girls for high tea @ Kith Cafe Park Mall!
It's a newly-opened branch.
Coincidently, my friend is working there, so I asked him to recommend me some popular dishes to eat!
We had Grilled Chicken sandwich, Cranberry Scone, Iced Rooibos, Watermelon & lychee smoothie.
 Cranberry Scone ($4)
Pretty worth it for the price and size! M likes the white colour creamy thing! I dunno what's that but taste buttery. The other one is the cranberry jam sauce.
Grilled Chicken sandwich. ($12)
Yummy but slight pricey! :) Bread & chicken are good.
Watermelon & Lychee Smoothie ($7.50 large)
Special combination! Not bad!!

Overall, a cafe with nice ambience, good service and good food.
I would like to try their breakfast menu next time! before 3pm.

Dhoby w b
Walked around & caught 'How I Spent my Summer Vacation'.
B brought me to Raindrops Cafe for dinner!
Not as what I've expected, the entrees are quite exp. All $15 above. Sides/Appetisers avg $10.
The interior design is nice & heart-warming.

 Great ambience for date!
 My Fish & Chips ($15)
The reason i picked this dish is because of the truffle fries! I'm a sucker for fries!!
All are yummy! love the dressing of the garden salad.
 Carbonara ($17)
Everything was nice except the penne. Under-cooked. Disappointed!

Overall: Food was good thou on the pricey side. Ambience was great. Service was so-so only.

The other day went to eat Andersen's Couple Fondue ($21.90)

16 June 2012

Lunched w b @ Yomenya Goemon Cityhall!
Heard many good ravings on this jap spaghetti restaurant before I went there.
What's so special about them? Is using chopsticks to eat spaghetti!
Probaby not used to it, so felt a bit weird. :P

Ordered their half-and-half set meal that comes with a drink/dessert & soup.
Half-and-half = Two different flavours of 80g spaghetti. (Normal was 120g- info from the staff)
We ordered the carbonara & vongole spaghetti set. ($20)

 Soup was delicious.

 Carbonara w Yolk & Bacon.
Not bad, but cannot compared to the one I ate at Kabe no Ana.
 Vongole
Not bad. Love the combination of garlic, chilli and olive oil.
Not too spicy because I cant take spicy.

 I chose Matcha Jelly.
Regret! Because the matcha jelly is so bitter @_@
But the red bean & green tea ice cream are nice la.

Overall, food was good and the set was affordable! However, service was so-so only.
I would like to try their black squid sauce spaghetti next time!

Rate: 3.75/5

Our tea time snacks! 2 dollar nuggets & iced mocha!

At night went to Sims Avenue for dinner!
126 Dim Sum.
Not as amazing as what I expect. Normal & not cheap actually.
But all their dimsum is like mini-size, damn cute haha.
 Fried char siew bun! ($3.50)
 Barley($2.20) and meat porridge ($2)
Special presentation of the barley! Those take-away containers.
Charsiew Chee Cheong Fun ($4.50), Har Gow, Siew Mai ($2.50), Chicken feet ($2.50), Chicken Bun ($3.20), Xiao Long Bao.
I love the chicken feet.  The rest was so-so.

Angry boy after driving many many rounds to find a parking lot.

Rate: 3/5

Next time I want to try Swee Choon. But the boy said is was okay only, slightly better than 126 though.

Btw, I've finally start my jogging session again!
But quite fail, hahaha only run two rounds. :/ Results of not running for half a year.
More jogging sessions to go~
